Hulu unveils Fyre Fraud documentary, featuring interview with disgraced founder Billy McFarland: Watch

6 months, 4 days ago

Hulu has unveiled its own documentary on the failed Fyre Fest — just days before rival Netflix is set to premiere a competing film.

Coming from Emmy nominated and Peabody award-winning directors Jenner Furst and Julia Willoughby Nason, Frye Fraud is a 96-minute doc chronicling the disastrous Bahamian music festival that never was. Unlike Netflix’s Fyre, however, Hulu’s Fyre Fraud features an interview with Fyre Fest founder Billy McFarland, who was recently sentenced to six years in prison for fraud.

A press release describes Fyre Fraud as a “dark comedy” and “a cautionary tale for a generation.” The filmmakers said their aim was “to set the stage for a strange journey into the moral abyss of our digital age, going beyond the meme to show an ecosystem of enablers, driven by profit and willing to look the other way, for their own gain.”

“We draw on countless cultural references, on true crime tension, and on humor – but we did not intend to create a toothless comedy about the Fyre Festival,” the filmmakers add. “We hope this film can pierce our collective apathy and disrupt our own millennial peers, if only for an instant – to look at these stories for what they truly are, and to halt this algorithm before it devours us whole.”

Fyre Fraud is now streaming in full on Hulu. Watch a trailer below.

Jenni ‘JWoww’ Farley Is ‘Thankful’ for 2½-Year-Old Son Greyson’s Speech Progress

6 months, 27 days ago

Despite her 2½-year-old son’s recent autism diagnosis, Jenni “JWoww” Farley has a lot to be thankful for this year.

The Jersey Shore star, 32, celebrated Christmas Eve with her fans by posting a video on YouTube that showed all the progress Greyson has made in learning how to talk over the course of 2018.

The first clips in the compilation — dated back to January of this year — show the toddler getting upset when he was asked questions or when mom tried to get him to repeat certain words or phrases. But by the later videos, he’s able to count aloud the number of apples lined up in front of him, repeat the names of different colors, identify various facial features, and even ask for his bottle. With each major milestone, you can hear his reality star mom in the background cheering with joy.

“Happy Holidays everyone!” Farley wrote in the caption. “I’m so excited to share this video with you all documenting the progress Greyson has made throughout this past year. I’m so proud of him and thankful for everyone’s love and support throughout this journey.”

The mom of two — she and her estranged husband Roger Mathews are also parents to 4-year-old daughter, Meilani Alexandra — first shared the news of her son’s autism diagnosis in an interview with Hollywood Life in late November.

At the time, she told the outlet that while Greyson was “non-verbal,” he was on a path of “positive, positive” progress.

“He has co-therapies week but we’re going to step it up a notch soon and get him ABA treatments, speech therapy,” she said, adding that Greyson has “made leaps and bounds when it comes to speech” — specifically, “He’s understanding words better, which was his issue.”

Farley initially discussed her son’s struggles with speech at the end of August during the premiere of the second season of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. She revealed more info on Instagram the next day.

Sharing a photo of herself hugging the little boy and a subsequent video of him climbing onto a chair, Farley thanked those who had reached out with messages of support.

“To everyone that tuned into @jerseyshore last night and messaged, commented etc about @greysonmathews with similar stories or just showing love I can’t thank you enough,” wrote the star. “As a mother, I will go to the moon and back for my kids … no question. I live my life differently because of them.”

“To find out Greyson is ‘behind’ or ‘delayed’ crushed me … but only for a moment … that moment came from wanting to have ‘perfect children’ and ‘how could this happen to me?’ ” she continued. “But Grey is PERFECT and it CAN happen to anyone.”

In an update video a few weeks later, she told fans, “Greyson wasn’t hitting his milestones the way other kids were supposed to … I don’t know if I would even call it a struggle because Greyson is still perfect to me. But it’s something as a mom and a parent I’m going through and a lot of parents go through.”

Farley and her ex have different approaches to Greyson’s condition, which she discussed with Today in October, the month after she and Mathews split.

“When Greyson wasn’t hitting his marks in the world of doctors, Roger, couldn’t, not that he couldn’t care less, but he was like, ‘He’s perfect. He’s going to be fine. This is no big deal,’ ” Farley said.

It left her feeling conflicted.

“In that aspect, I felt very alone because I was the only parent. I thought, ‘Am I bad wanting to get him help because Roger’s not concerned, so should I not be concerned?’ ” JWoww continued.

In the months since the diagnosis, Greyson has been in early intervention therapy, and it’s been working wonders, as evidenced by his mom’s latest video.

Daniel Wakeford From Undateables Is Engaged To His Long-Term Girlfriend

7 months, 4 days ago

Undateables BDaniel and Lily are engaged.Channel 4

Love is well and truly in the air and even the coldest of hearts will be thawed by the loveliest romantic news of the festive season.

Musician Daniel Wakeford from Brighton was an instant favourite when he first appeared on The Undateables, with viewers rooting for him to find love.

His immortal line, ‘we might go to Eastbourne’ when asked by a potential girlfriend what the future might hold proved particularly endearing.

Due to his autism, the 30-year-old singer-songwriter has difficulties with communication and understanding others meaning the world of dating has proven difficult. When he found a kindred spirit in Lily Taylor, viewers couldn’t have been happier.

Daniel and Lily, 23, met last year on a special Christmas episode of the show. Both were shown excitedly getting ready for their date, but neither could have guessed how brilliantly they would get along.

Admitting she was looking for the sort of man who would be in a boyband (‘like Daniel!’), thoughtful Lily brought Daniel an advent calendar. The perfect gentleman, Daniel complimented Lily’s ‘beautiful’ red hair and ‘smart’ dress, and asked about her taste in music.

It was clear the pair greatly enjoyed each others company, and a year on they are about to embark on the next step in their relationship. Yes, Daniel’s ‘Christmas girlfriend’ has now become his Christmas fiancé.

During a festive episode, set to be broadcast December 18, fans will see Daniel propose to his beloved Lily; serenading her with the Christmas classic All I Want For Christmas Is You while accompanied by a choir.

Daniel proposed at Lily’s favourite place, the Brighton Bandstand; getting down on one knee and slipping a sparking diamond ring on her finger. An overjoyed Lily accepted.

As reported by The Mirror, an excited Daniel then proceeded to shout:

I did it! We love each other. I’m feeling very excited. What’s the best feeling in the world? Love.

Lily expressed similar sentiments:

I’m so very happy Daniel proposed. We’re getting married! I love him very much.

@bettytweetsTV #danielandLily #TheUndateables this makes me so very happy. It really is an ‘I was there when they first met’ moment! Has made my Christmas. So blooming happy I could explode like a cracker. Huge congratulations to you both xx

— Sarah Lea (@SarahLoulou18) December 15, 2018

According to The Mirror, Lily’s mum Karen said:

We absolutely sobbed our socks off with joy.

She has won the love lottery. Daniel is perfect for her. They really understand each other.

And Daniel’s supportive dad Barry has also shared his delight at the engagement, stating:

When he found Lily, all his Christmases came at once.

Christmas just got better, just seen an advert for a undateables Christmas special with all the old favs! #theundateables

— ☆Adders☆ (@Adders_) December 6, 2018

Daniel’s mum Karen has previously spoken with The Mirror about how proud she is of her son, who is widely regarded as being a positive role model:

We’re just so proud of what Daniel has achieved with his music.

I think back to when he was young and he was very shy, and now he’s entertaining thousands of people who love him for who he is.

It’s so important too in changing society’s perceptions of what people with learning disabilities can achieve.

She added:

To see his relationship with Lily blossom has been wonderful.

She loves coming to Daniel’s shows and cheering him on from the front – and Daniel always likes to dedicate one of his songs such as I Love Girlfriend or A Song for You to her…

Viewers In Tears After Anne Hegerty Meets Young Superfan With Autism

FaceThumb_13.39.48_AHAnne Hegerty on This MorningITV

The public were in tears after watching Anne Hegerty meet a young boy with autism who is her biggest fan.

Anne met young Joseph Hughes on This Morning after he wrote her an emotional and heart-warming letter while she was in the jungle on I’m a Celebrity.

Joseph, 11, was bullied for his autism and his emotional letter prompted Anne to talk about her own Asperger’s.

Joseph wrote a letter for Anne Hegerty 🙂#AnneHegerty #theChase #ImACeleb

Joseph’s letter read:

To Anne. My name is Joseph Hughes and I am 11. I live in Preston, Lancashire and I go to a specialist school.

I was diagnosed with autism when I was five. I like to watch you on The Chase and now I have been watching you in the Jungle. I think you are very brave for going in the Jungle, I couldn’t go there because there are too many bugs.

You are very clever. Sometimes people are mean to me because I am autistic but watching you makes me see that other people can have autism too and maybe I can have a cool job like you when I am older.

Do you like Thunderbirds? I love them. My favourite is Thunderbird two. I have drawn you a picture I hope you like it.

Good luck in the Jungle I hope you win. Love from Joseph.

Anne Hegerty on This MorningITV

Anne spoke to Phillip Schofield and Rochelle Humes about the letter before they surprised her by bringing Joseph and his mum out to meet her.

Joseph said it was great to meet her and laughed as she shared her knowledge of Thunderbirds facts with him.

Speaking about life in the camp, she said: “I went really quickly from ‘I want to win this’ to ‘I hope I’m the first voted off’ to ‘get me out of here now’.”

People on Twitter loved their meeting, with one person quoting Anne’s beautifully honest line:

It’s completely untrue that I did it in order to raise awareness about autism, I did it for the money”!!! Love you more! Absolute legend!

Beverly Weaver congratulated and thanked Anne:

Well done Anne, my son is 30 and was diagnosed with Aspergers two years ago, the loneliness is heart breaking for a mother to witness, he works but social inclusion is so difficult, I hope This Morning cover this area for #asperger sufferers, as it’s often forgotten about.

We also recently learned that Anne was on the brink of homelessness before capturing the nation’s hearts on The Chase.

The Governess, who’s been diagnosed with autism, opened up to Stuff recently, about how she almost lost her house:

I just simply couldn’t keep it going and the result was I wasn’t paying my bills, but I was trying not to go on benefits on the grounds that I just thought that was sort of giving up. I wasn’t giving up.

She was put on Disability Living Allowance to keep her afloat in the meantime.

When all was said and done, she became savvy to the ‘high level quizzing circuit’. Before she knew it, she was laying waste via general knowledge to contestants on The Chase.

Anne Hegerty Lost A Stone In The I’m A Celebrity Jungle

7 months, 12 days ago

AnneAnne HegertyITV

Anne Hegerty lost a stone in weight during her stint on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! after it forced her to cut out salt and rice.

The Chase and quizzing extraordinaire was voted out of the jungle on Wednesday night after surviving almost three weeks.

During that time, 60-year-old Anne lost a dramatic amount of weight due to the change in diet.

Anne Hegerty opens up about autismITV

The Governess dropped around 14lbs since the start of her journey on the ITV reality show, according to the The Sun.

The Bushtucker Trials and basic diet in the jungle pushed Anne to her limit.

The TV star appeared on This Morning looking happy and healthy after being booted off the show.

Dressed in a flower-patterned t-shirt and black blouse, Anne showed off her slimmer frame and viewers were quick to notice her transformation.

Speaking to Phillip Schofield and Rochelle Humes, Anne said:

The trouble is really there is no salt.

About a week ago my digestive system just said to me ‘I’m sorry, I’m not having any more rice.

I can have beans, I can have rice and beans but I am having no more rice because it is just going straight through’.

So since then I’ve not had rice by itself. It just went straight through me.

Anne, who is a devout Christian, performed mass every Sunday in the camp. She even consulted a priest to discuss how she could worship in the jungle, as well as bringing a prayer book as her luxury item.

Anne is also very open about her autism as well as starring in the UK and Australian version of the The Chase.

Anne tanned good and lost so much weight 😯 #ThisMorning #imaceleb #annehegerty

— Chels Alexandra Porter (@ChelzyBean) December 6, 2018

Anne continued:

I wanted to be voted off to put it brutally.

I was having the most brilliant time but what was brilliant about it was my campmates. I just adore them all.

Speaking about her fellow contestants she shared: “I couldn’t have possibly coped without them.

I would have walked out the first morning if it were not for my campmates in Camp Rock. They were utterly fantastic.

@anne_hegerty you’re wicked. I wanted you to win.. such a lovely person.. how much weight did you lose, you looked so good on @GMB

Twitter was awash with compliments for Anne, with one saying:

Missing @anne_hegerty I am what a clever lady who achieved so much in #Imaceleb How proud of her are we? Always liked her on #TheChase but I admire her even more. Well done Anne & how great you look with the weight loss….new challenges are good!

Brendan Fraser Brightened Up Millions Of Childhoods With His Movies

7 months, 15 days ago

BRENDAN FRASER WEBbrendan fraserGetty

‘George, George, George of the Jungle, strong as he can be. Aaaaahhhhhhh. Watch out for that tree!’

I can’t tell you the number of times my younger sister and I watched George of the Jungle growing up, singing along loudly with the theme tune on every occasion.

We loved yelling ‘watch out for that tree’ every time George would swing through the jungle with his hilarious habit of crashing into everything, leaving us with tears of laughter in our eyes.

george of the jungle brendan fraserBuena Vista Pictures

Although the film was a childhood favourite of mine, I had no idea until a couple of years ago George was played by Brendan Fraser, a major Hollywood star in the late 1990s.

If you watched movies in the 90s you’d have certainly seen Fraser pop up as his career was taking off.

And if you didn’t go to the cinema or buy home videos, he was continually featured on film posters plastered on to the side of buses and billboards year after year.

Encino ManBuena Vista Pictures

Making a name for himself in California Man (released as Encino Man in the US) and School Ties in 1992, two years later Fraser appeared in the comedy Airheads alongside the hugely popular and successful actors Steve Buscemi and Adam Sandler.

Starring next to these two big names though didn’t faze Fraser who showed off his natural comedic talent, sense of humour and acting chops as the leader of a band of loser musicians.

While I didn’t watch these three films growing up, instead seeing them when I was older, they were successful among teenagers at the time much like George of the Jungle was with children my age at the time of its release.

You can watch the trailer for Airheads below:

When George of the Jungle was released in 1997, Disney did not expect it to be the huge success it was both commercially and with critics.

A live-action film adaptation of the Jay Ward cartoon of the same name, kids couldn’t help but fall in love with Fraser’s goofy George, a primitive man who was raised by animals.

While the movie admittedly heavily relied on one repetitive joke, that clumsy George couldn’t help but swing directly into trees, we didn’t mind it, the slapstick humour never got old.

Check out the trailer for George of the Jungle here:

But George of the Jungle wouldn’t have worked without Fraser; he was the perfect leading man to take on the role, much like he proved in Airheads.

Charismatic, charming and funny, he made George instantly likeable and relatable when the character could have been quite irritating.

It’s a shame he didn’t reprise the role in the sequel George of the Jungle 2 which went straight to video.

Let me tell you this, while my family’s copy of the original film on VHS remained very much on top of the pile of videos next to the television, George of the Jungle 2 went straight to the charity shop after one watch!

brendan fraser george of the jungleBuena Vista Pictures

With George of the Jungle kind of being a breakthrough film for Fraser, showing he could be a leading man and action star, it wasn’t long until he was cast in as the lead in his first proper summer blockbuster.

1999’s The Mummy saw Fraser’s heroic adventurer Rick O’Connell take on a high priest he accidentally awoke when he travelled to Hamunaptra, the city of the dead.

While the comparisons to Harrison Ford’s Indiana Jones are clear, Fraser’s O’Connell was a hero in his own right. It’s no wonder the it was followed by two sequels.

the mummyUniversal Pictures

Continuing to appear in films throughout the 00s, it has been a while since we have seen Fraser on the big screen as he disappeared from the public eye leaving the world wondering what ever happened to the movie star.

In an incredibly honest and emotional interview with GQ earlier this year, Fraser revealed why he turned away from Hollywood.

Coming forward with his own story of sexual abuse, allegedly at the hands of Philip Berk, the former president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), Fraser spoke about the impact it had on him.

Brendan FraserGetty

Speaking about the incident which is said to have taken place in 2003 at a HFPA luncheon, Fraser described how he was groped when he shook hands with Berk.

Overcome with fear and panic, Fraser rushed home telling the magazine:

I felt ill. I felt like a little kid. I felt like there was a ball in my throat. I thought I was going to cry.

I became depressed. I was blaming myself and I was miserable—because I was saying, ‘this is nothing; this guy reached around and he copped a feel’.

It made me retreat. It made me feel reclusive.

I don’t know if this curried disfavour with the group, with the HFPA, but the silence was deafening.

the revenge of the mummy premiere brendan fraserGetty

Deciding not to make the alleged incident public at the time, Fraser did receive a written apology from Berk who disputed the actor’s account in a statement provided to GQ calling it ‘a total fabrication’.

After the luncheon Fraser felt shut out from the HFPA wondering if he had now been blacklisted in Hollywood.

Although there is no way we can definitively link the two, Fraser’s career certainly declined after the alleged incident as he withdrew from the Hollywood scene.

Brendan FraserGetty

In his personal life Fraser has also faced struggles in the past year continually being in and out of hospital struggling with his health.

Undergoing several surgeries, these included a laminectomy, a couple of lumbar surgeries, a partial knee replacement and repairs on his vocal cords.

Considering Fraser was known to be an action star, this of course posed problems with what roles he could take on.

Brendan FraserGetty

Fraser explained:

By the time I did the third Mummy picture in China, which was 2008, I was put together with tape and ice—just, like, really nerdy and fetishy about ice packs.

Screw-cap ice packs and downhill-mountain-biking pads, ’cause they’re small and light and they can fit under your clothes. I was building an exoskeleton for myself daily.

I don’t know if I’ve been sent to the glue factory, but I’ve felt like I’ve had to rebuild sh*t that I’ve built that got knocked down and do it again for the good of everyone. Whether it hurts you or not.

Eventually his body couldn’t take any more and Fraser was forced to retire from stunt work.

Brendan FraserGetty

During this period Fraser also went through a divorce, his mother died in 2016 and his eldest son was then diagnosed with autism.

The actor clearly needed a break and despite everything he has been through he concluded his GQ interview on a positive note by saying ‘I feel a lot better now’.

Returning to the entertainment world in 2016 when he joined the recurring cast of the TV drama The Affair, Fraser now focuses on television.

the affair brendan fraserShowtime

Earlier this year he portrayed the Getty family fixer in the anthology series Trust alongside Donald Sutherland and Hilary Swank after being cast in the show by Danny Boyle.

In August it was announced Fraser will play Robotman/Cliff Steele in DC’s upcoming live-action television series Doom Patrol which will be a spin-off from Titans.

And so the future looks promising for Fraser, a man who brought laughter and adventure to so many of our childhoods in iconic roles including the jungle’s George and The Mummy’s Rick O’Connell to name just a few.

We wish him all the best. Happy 50th birthday Brendan!

Anne Hegerty Was Almost Homeless And Living On Disability Allowance Before The Chase

Anne Hegerty may be among the crop of celebrities set for their challenge of their lives in the jungle this year, but it’s nothing compared to what the fearsome chaser has overcome before.

Prior to capturing the nation’s hearts on ITV gameshow The Chase, Hegerty was struggling to get by as a freelance proof reader.

At one stage she became on the brink of homelessness as she made do on disability allowance.

The Governess, who lives with autism, opened up to Stuff recently, revealing how she almost lost her house.

‘I just simply couldn’t keep it going and the result was I wasn’t paying my bills, but I was trying not to go on benefits on the grounds that I just thought that was sort of giving up. I wasn’t giving up,’ she said.

The 60-year-old had fallen behind on rent payments for her council house. Eventually someone from the Housing Association turned up at her door.

‘She was stepping over piles of unopened mail and realised we had a problem. She said ‘we will fix this, I will get someone to help you,” Anne recalled.

The social worker offered to help out Anne with her bills and the subsequent stress they brought on.

Anne HegertyITV

She was put on Disability Living Allowance to keep her afloat in the meantime.

When all was said and done, she became savvy to the ‘high level quizzing circuit’. Before she knew it, she was laying waste via general knowledge to contestants on The Chase.

For her first year on the show, Anne still received the benefit.

‘It is difficult to go down the street without being recognised. It’s weird and interesting,’ she added.

‘There are times when you’re not absolutely crazy about it.. but I hope I never take it for granted.’

Keep doing you, Anne.

Bullied Boy With Autism Writes Amazing Letter To Anne Hegerty In The Jungle

Anne Hegerty 2Anne Hegerty opens up about autismITV

A young boy with autism has written a letter to I’m A Celebrity‘s Anne Hegerty after she opened up about her own Asperger’s in the jungle.

Anne, who entered the jungle on Sunday night (November 18), warmed viewers’ hearts when she faced her fears head on and confided in her fellow celebrities about her struggles.

Since then, she has continued to open up to her camp mates and they have been seen forming a close bond over the past couple of days.

Speaking to her fellow campmates – Fleur East, Emily Atack, James McVey and Rita Simons – the 60-year-old explained how her Asperger’s means she has to fully imagine herself completing a task beforehand; otherwise she can be thrown off completely.

Only the day before, Anne – best known for her persona as The Governess on The Chase – broke down in tears and threatened to quit the show.

Anne could be seen getting visibly upset on her first night in camp, turning to her campmates and saying:

I’m just really, really close to saying I can’t do this.

Anne Hegerty threatens to quit I'm A CelebITV

After opening up to her campmates, 60-year-old Anne took to the Bush Telegraph to express her thoughts.

She said:

I really appreciate how nice and sympathetic they’ve been to me. It was nice that they said I pick up on social cues because I’m never quite sure that I entirely do. I just get overwhelmed with all the things there are to do.

And now her bravery for putting herself in such a difficult situation has been recognised, in particular by an 11-year-old boy with autism who wrote her a letter.

Joseph Hughes, from Preston, was diagnosed with autism at the age of five. He told Anne in his letter that she is ‘very brave’ and ‘clever,’ stating that he likes to watch her on The Chase.

His mum, Kate Jarvis, posted the letter to her Twitter account yesterday (November 19):

Joseph wrote a letter for Anne Hegerty 🙂#AnneHegerty #theChase #ImACeleb

— Kate Jarvis (@apparentlymad) November 19, 2018

The young boy started by introducing himself to Anne, giving her his name and telling her that he attends a specialist school because of his autism.

He wrote:

I think you are very brave for going in the jungle. I couldn’t go there because there are too many bugs. You are very clever.

Sometimes people are mean to me because I am autistic but watching you makes me see that other people can have autism too and maybe I can have a cool job like you when I am older.

He also talks about his love for Thunderbirds, asking Anne if she likes them too.

The post went viral, and Joseph’s mum posted a video of his response earlier this morning. In the video, she can be heard telling Joseph that his letter was seen by the people who make Thunderbirds.

Upon hearing this, he gasps and says he ‘can’t believe it’:

He's a bit shell shocked this morning!

— Kate Jarvis (@apparentlymad) November 20, 2018

Hopefully Anne will see Joseph’s letter once she leaves the jungle and he can meet the woman who has inspired so many.

Undateables Star Daniel Wakeford Is Celebrating One Year With His Girlfriend

8 months, 30 days ago

After melting the hearts of viewers nationwide on their first date, Daniel Wakeford will soon celebrate one year with his girlfriend, Lily.

Their meeting was televised as part of Channel 4‘s series, the Undeateables and their romance quickly blossomed, with Lily declaring she fancied Daniel at the pub as they chatted about music and The X Factor.

They shared their first kiss the same day and Channel 4 dubbed it ‘the best date in the history of the world’:

Since appearing on the show – which offended some and delighted others – Daniel has gone from strength to strength, he told the Mirror Online.

The 30-year-old Brightonian with autism has been touring the country promoting his music, which helped him impress Lily on their date back in 2017.

Daniel’s second album, That’s How I See It, was released in September 2018, featuring tracks like It’s A Wonderful City, which is about his hometown.

Autism had made Daniel very shy when he was growing up, and meant he found it difficult to communicate at times. But he always had a love of singing and songwriting, which helped him express his feelings.

His early songs were often about his desire to meet someone special he could share his passion with, and Daniel quickly found favour with the viewing public when he performed his song The Black of Lonely on the Undateables.

You can listen to the track on his YouTube channel:

Hundreds of thousands of people have been streaming his music online, and in a ‘lovely’ twist of fate, Lily is always in attendance at Daniel’s gigs.

He told the Mirror:

Lily likes me on the telly, and now she’s being my girlfriend. It feels so lovely when I’m with her. It’s been nearly a year now.

Daniel’s mum, Carol, 60, had even set up a dating agency for people with learning disabilities to help him find ‘the One’, and couldn’t be more pleased her son has found happiness with Lily.

She loves coming to Daniel’s shows and cheering him on from the front – and Daniel always likes to dedicate one of his songs such as I Love Girlfriend or A Song for You to her.

It seems the two music lovers are totally smitten. Meanwhile, Daniel is on the road again, doing a nationwide tour supporting his new album.

Daniel told the Mirror meeting Lily has really marked a turning point in his confidence, and his music, too.

Describing his relationship with Lily, he said:

It was so wonderful to my life. I was a little bit nervous, I used my powerful voice and my soft voice.

Everything is really great when I’m being a famous star. I love meeting my fans.

…And they turn up in their hundreds to meet Daniel, too, with the Brighton singer amassing quite the fanbase.

Carol said she and Daniel’s dad, Barry, 69, are really proud of Daniel and what he’s achieved with his music, adding:

I think back to when he was young and he was very shy, and now he’s entertaining thousands of people who love him for who he is.

It’s so important too in changing society’s perceptions of what people with learning disabilities can achieve.

While the show’s title did receive some criticism, the match-making service which Undateables utilises to help love bloom on television for participants has a pretty good track record.

Congratulations to Lily and Daniel!

AT&T raises DirecTV Now pricing by $5 per month

1 year, 18 days ago

Following last week’s launch of its low-cost streaming TV service, Watch TV, AT&T is now raising prices on its original over-the-top offering, DirecTV Now, by $5 per month. That means instead of starting at $35 per month for its basic “Live a Little” tier with 60+ channels, the new service will start at $40 per month. The other tiers are going up by $5 per month, as well.

That means the “Just Right” 80+ channel package will be $55/month, the “Go Big” 100+ channel package will be $60/month, and the “Gotta Have It” 120+ channel package will be $70/month.

The news was first spotted by Cord Cutters News over the weekend. There was also a discussion of the price changes occurring on Reddit.

While there are concerns about AT&T’s price hikes elsewhere in its business, it’s not the first TV streaming service to raise its prices in recent months. YouTube TV also upped the cost of its service by $5/month, going from $35/month to $40/month back in March. And only days ago, Dish’s Sling TV revamped its service with a price change of its own, going up $5/month to $25/month instead of $20/month for its base package without add-ons.

Meanwhile, $40/month is in line with Sony’s PlayStation Vue’s least expensive plan as well as with Hulu’s Live TV service.

AT&T attributed its decision to these shifts in the market for streaming TV.

“In the 18 months since our launch, we have continued to evolve our DirecTV Now products to serve this new customer set and compare favorably with our competitors. To continue delivering the best possible streaming experience for both new and existing customers, we’re bringing the cost of this service in line with the market—which starts at a $40 price point,” a spokesperson said.

The changes were announced via email to existing subscribers, and may see some of DirecTV Now’s early adopters fleeing, as a result. Commenters on Reddit complained about the quality of AT&T’s service, including issues with its streams and DVR, for example. Others, meanwhile, felt that AT&T’s channel lineup was still a good value for the money, even with the increase.

As a result of price hike, there are now few services left offering low-cost streaming TV. Sling TV, even at now $25/month remains one of the most affordable, along with AT&T’s far more limited Watch TV, and Philo’s $16/month service lacking sports and locals.

The new prices will go into effect on July 26 for new customers based on their billing date, AT&T tells us.

Update, 7/2/18, 11 AM ET: posted updated with effective date pricing from AT&T
